VICTOR I. BURGOS
Victor and his wife Norma were born in Puerto Rico, U.S.A. They have three children: Jonathan Irving, Zamar David, and Carolina Cristina.
Victor joined the Army in 1982 and in 1983 was assigned to Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) at Ft. Lewis, Washington. After finishing his military service commitment in 1985, he was honorably discharged and decided to stay in Tacoma, Washington, where he and his family have been residing since.
Shortly after his release from the Armed Forces, Victor went back to work in the medical field. Today he works in a large hospital as a Medical Laboratory Supervisor.
In 1986, he became a member of By His Word Christian Center (BHWCC), pastored by Rev. Jann Thomas Butler and his Associate Pastor John Cook. Victor started serving the Lord in the Children's Dept. He served as a helper in the three year old's class and after that he served in various departments: Prison Ministry Dept. to McNeil Island, Personal Workers Dept., Men's Ministry and Home Bible Fellowships. Since 1989, he has been leading the All Church Prayer gathering at BHWCC. Also he has been serving as a Board member of the church in the capacity of Treasurer since 1995.
On Father's Day 1993, Victor was ordained Minister. That same year, he traveled to Guatemala as part of a team on a short-term mission trip. He served as translator for different speakers in several churches in Guatemala City and the City of Quetzaltenango. The following year he again visited the Central American country, but this time he was used to preach God's Word by himself in his native tongue: Spanish. The ministry was conducted mainly in the city of Amatitlan.
In December 1995, he founded Victory Christian Ministries, a ministry dedicated to teach and preach the Word of God, and to minister through the prophetic, the redemptive heart of God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
In August 1997, Victor, Norma, and two native Samoans traveled to Hawaii and to the Independent State of Western Samoa on a three week mission trip that would be the beginning of the fullfillment of a prophetic dream that the Lord gave Victor back in August 1990.
Western Samoa was the target of a second missionary trip by Victor and Norma in July 1998. The missionary trip lasted two weeks and consisted of a five member team.
Victor's ministry trips have taken him to Canada, Mexico, India and Cuba.
As a substantial part of his ministry, and as the Lord leads him, Victor plans to continue his global outreach with a particular emphasis on the islands of the world.
Victor is a firm and strong supporter of the local church. His ministry of edification, exhortation, and comfort promotes faithfulness, responsibility, integrity and accountability in all aspects of the Chrisitian walk.
